The short course started at Columbia University with some introduction lecturers on Copula applications in Hydrology, Civil Engineering and Economics given by Nicola Chiara, Upmanu Lall and Salvatore Grimaldi.
After that theoretical lectuers and lab exercises were given and developed with mathematical and statistical prospective. Gianfausto Salvadori, Ivan Kojadinovic and Francesco Serinaldi described and explained all steps for Copula function application and the theoretical background for a fully understanding of it.
17 participants from 8 different countries and with different background (Economy, Hydrology, Forestry, civil engineering) successfully took part to the course. Their presentations were interesting and well explained.
