The STAHY Working group co-sponsored the session HS5.5/NP6.10 “Stochastics in hydrometeorological processes: from point to global spatial scales and from minute to climatic time scales” Convener: Demetris Koutsoyiannis, Co-Conveners: Ezio Todini, Alin Andrei Cârsteanu, Salvatore Grimaldi.
The session involved 5 oral contributions and 10 poster (listed at the end of the report) and was attended by more than 150 people.
All the authors delivered interesting presentations underlined by a rich discussion.
Of particular interest was the invited lecture given by Prof Roberto Deidda. An insightful presentation on rainfall downscaling multifractal models was given leading to good discussion on the future development of this approach and on the problem in the estimation of high order moments.
In the afternoon session interesting posters were shown about Hurst Kolgomorov process by a rich group of greek scientists
