Report KOS 2013

Kos Island, 17-19 October 2013

STAHY group at Asclepion Archeological site (poster session venue)

In 2013 the topical workshop of ICSH-IAHS Commission was held jointly to two prestigious events: the EGU Leonardo Conference, held every year in Europe, and the Hydrofractals Conference, held every ten years.

The STAHY workshop involved 20 oral presentations and 22 posters.

For the first time the STAHY best paper award was assigned and the recipient (S. C. Kao) was the invited speaker of the conference.

As in the previous editions of the STAHY workshops also in Kos we proposed and organized a Round Table on a "father" of statistical hydrology. We are particularly grateful to John Sutcliffe to have managed the round table involving distinguished colleague to celebrate the contribution of Harold Edwin Hurst.

A special thanks to Demetris Koutsoyiannis and to his research group of National Technical University of Athens for the wonderful organization and warm hospitality.

Thanks also to Nikos Dargonakis for his efficient organization of the event.

Videos of oral contributions and poster interviews are collected in the ICSH-IAHS YouTube Channel ( thanks to the help of Andrea Petroselli.
